The Friends of Geelong Botanic Gardens were founded in 1985 as a not-for-profit community organisation to support the Geelong Botanic Gardens.

The Friends of Geelong Botanic Gardens support and celebrate the Geelong Botanic Gardens as a place for plants and people, discovery and learning, ideas and innovation, engagement and pride, conservation, environment and quiet contemplation.

The Friends programs include a wide range of activities for members, volunteers, schools and the public including:

• An Education Program
• The Friends Nursery and Plant Sales
• Guided Walks through the Gardens
• A Library
• Jubaea: our quarterly Newsletter
• Events Program
• Maintenance of the Perennial Border and Rose Garden
• Music in the Gardens every Sunday in February
• Botanic Art Classes
