The Friends of Geelong Botanic Gardens were founded in 1985 as a not-for-profit community organisation to support the Geelong Botanic Gardens.
The Friends of Geelong Botanic Gardens support and celebrate the Geelong Botanic Gardens as a place for plants and people, discovery and learning, ideas and innovation, engagement and pride, conservation, environment and quiet contemplation.
The Friends programs include a wide range of activities for members, volunteers, schools and the public including:
- An Education Program
- The Friends Nursery and Plant Sales
- Guided Walks through the Gardens
- A Library
- Jubaea: our quarterly Newsletter
- Events Program
- Maintenance of the Perennial Border and Rose Garden
- Music in the Gardens every Sunday in February
- Botanic Art Classes
- Members events and activities
