Temporary Office

On Wednesday June 21 we were advised that the building that holds our office and meeting room facilities will not be accessible between 7.00 am and 5.00 pm on weekdays, from Friday June 23 until Monday July 17. This is due to a replacement roof being fitted and the contractors have closed the immediate site for the site works.

With a great deal of thought and action, we have tried to work through all the logistics of this sudden change to our office procedures and we ask everyone for patience and understanding as we continue to solve a multitude of problems.  It is an extremely busy time in the office as membership renewals are coming in fast and it is also hectic, ensuring that all financial records are completed and correct by June 30 for the end of the financial year.  Term Three classes with our Geelong School of Botanical Art are scheduled to commence on Tuesday July 18 and enrolments are required prior to class commencement.

We have a train trip to Melbourne planned for early July, as well as managing our usual monthly administration tasks such as the What's On Bulletin, Garden Highlights, Discovery Walk etc.

Our staff members are certainly working in diverse locations - we totally appreciate their adaptability and flexibility.

We have some regular Botanical Art classes scheduled in this period and a new course of training for our Volunteer Guides commenced this week.  These are being re-located so that the events do not have to be postponed.

Our staff will be operating from different locations during this period. The 'main office' has been set up at the home of our Administration Officer, Tracey Tilbury and, to our knowledge, everything is working well for emails etc. Sally Bird, our other Administration staff member, will be working from the Gardens office each Tuesday during the period and also on Monday July 3.

It would help us immensely if you want to contact the office, please do so by email to info@friendsgbg.org.au rather than by phone.  If you need to leave something for the Friends, please call in to the Gardens office and leave it with GBG Gardens staff, who will pass it on to the Friends.

We are totally indebted to Tracey and Sally and thank them for their flexibility to help us to have 'business as usual.

Sincere thanks for everyone’s co-operation.
